People have told me there are those who should be dead here. And dead for quite a while. I've been wondering this for a while, but, it feels like people don't just come from different realities and worlds, but also different times.
We did not. We knew there was a memory issue that may or may not be related to a timeline issue. Why would anyone assume people could come here from different times? After all, people remember them being around still. As for dead people, I assume if they leave they'll go back to being dead, if the other people remember them as such. Unless leaving becomes a split timeline.
In some theories something that is meant to be will always become. So if they come here before their death, but return right before, there is nothing that can be done. If they return after, perhaps another event will happen to claim them and bring balance.
Or, as I said, a split timeline. The people who knew them are from the timeline in which they died, but if they return home there is a new one in which they live. If you follow that sort of thinking there are infinite splits.
hang on, isn't there a contradiction in your split timelines thing? i mean... if you're saying there's infinite timelines, shouldn't there be copies of us here too? what are the chances of that? what are the chances of any of this?
Not necessarily. Being here makes a split. It means that if we return we wouldn't return to the same timeline we left, as events are different. For example, if we assume my memory isn't altered, simply I left our world at the moment I last remember, the timeline I would exist when returning is not the same timeline that you exist in. It would have split at the point where I left, and yours would also split at the point when you left.
Temporal physics and theories of that nature are a bit hard, the more you think about it the more ridiculous it feels.

He looks like he's trying to hide some nervousness.]
[He approaches easily, looking about. The area was nicer than where he currently lived. The feeling of catering to long term guests rather than short.]
Huh? [He pulls his headphones off, then catches up with the words Komaeda had spoken and nods once, shoving his music player in his pocket and letting the wireless headphones dangle around his neck.]
Oh, yeah. I've been thinking about... a bunch of stuff. Like how long we've been here, and how much more time it might take to get home.
[Dude!!!! But he grimaces, feeling like he'd been caught in a lie.]
Well... I mean, it seemed like we got along pretty well. But he found two other people to split rent with, so it'd work out better for him. I don't know them, so... moving in with one guy I know fairly well is okay, but two other total strangers...?
[He shakes his head, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets.]

In fact that discrepancy is more worrying. Based on the people I've seen arrive here, and some conversations... it's rather worrying.
As for Souda kun, he would probably think he would want to, but ultimately get scared.
